Netflix offers WB lower DVD prices
Now that Netflix has agreed to wait 56 days to offer rentals of Warner Bros' newer titles, Variety has learned that in exchange for the longer window (up from 28 days), Netflix will receive some price concessions on purchasing DVDs from the studio. WB's sister company, HBO went in the opposite direction on its own deal with Netflix last week. Still Netflix's new deal with WB isn't as lucrative as it once was: the previous 28-day window gave the company price breaks on streaming content; they won't get such a discount now, sources close to the companies said.
